Causes and Measures for Abnormal Transformer Temperature

Many transformer faults are often accompanied by temperature changes. The upper oil temperature of the transformer should not exceed 95℃, and the temperature rise should not exceed 55℃. The main causes and measures for abnormal transformer temperature are:

Internal Transformer Faults

  • Cause: Core multi-point grounding and bare metal overheating.
  • Measure: Identify and address the internal faults.

Radiator Door Not Opened

  • Cause: After new installation or overhaul, the radiator door is not opened, preventing normal heat dissipation.
  • Measure: Check the operation of the oil pump and flow meter, and open any closed doors.

Blocked or Leaking Respirator

  • Cause: Blockage or severe oil leakage affects heat dissipation.
  • Measure: Ensure the respirator is clear and repair any leaks.

Unreasonable Transformer Structure

  • Cause: Magnetic leakage causing local overheating of the box shell, sometimes reaching hundreds of degrees.
  • Measure: Install magnetic isolation materials in specific parts.

Cooling Device Malfunction

  • Cause: Cooling device not operating normally, affecting heat dissipation.
  • Measure: Ensure the cooling device is functioning properly.

By addressing these causes and implementing the corresponding measures, abnormal transformer temperatures can be effectively managed to prevent further issues.
