The transformer employs the KNAN (K) cooling method, which stands for “Natural cooling with Air Natural.” This means that the transformer relies on natural convection and ambient air circulation for cooling, without the use of any forced cooling mechanisms such as fans.

The SL-2500-24.94-0.48 transformer is designed with a primary voltage of 24.94 kV in a delta configuration and a secondary voltage of 480 GrdY/277. It has a capacity of 2500 kVA. This transformer utilizes an environmentally friendly insulating liquid, specifically a degradable vegetable oil with a low flash point. It is classified as a KNAN transformer.

The SL-2500-24.94-0.48 transformer is specifically designed for the Canadian market and follows the standards set by the CSA (Canadian Standards Association). It features a side mount design for both the high voltage and low pressure components. The low voltage ground configuration is utilized.
