Features of the 1500 kVA Transformer

With a power rating of 1500 kVA (1.5 MVA), this pad-mounted transformer boasts a primary voltage of 13.2Y/7.62kV grounded Wye and a secondary voltage of 480Y/277 V Wye. The transformer is designed for loop feed and has dead-front primary connections. Additionally, it incorporates a 5-position tap changer, allowing users to select their preferred voltage from options including 14400V, 13800V, 13200V, 12870V, 12000V, and 11700V. The system is further equipped with two-position load break switches, under-oil arresters, bay-o-net fuses, and ELSP fuses.

The conductor material used in the 1500 kVA transformer is aluminum, enhancing performance, reducing weight, and lowering costs. This transformer is designed with rectangular coils and a five-strand core featuring three coils and four core loops.

1500 kVA Transformer Enclosure Design

The 1500 kVA transformer features a compartmentalized design with a tank and a cable entrance compartment. The cable entrance compartment carries a NEMA 3R protection rating. Within the cable entrance compartment, the high-pressure and low-pressure chambers are located side by side, with a barrier in between. The cable entrance compartment base is designed to prevent small animals or insects from gaining access. Furthermore, there is a locking handle on the door of the low-voltage room. To access the 1500 kVA electrical front compartment, one must first turn the handle of the low-voltage room to release the door before opening the door of the high-voltage room. Daelim Transformer can also provide a Kirk key interlock for the 1500 kVA pad-mounted transformer to enhance its anti-theft security.

Gauges:

Included in the 1500 kVA transformer are gauges such as an oil temperature gauge, vacuum pressure gauge, and oil level gauge. These gauges do not rely on contacts but rather simulate digital signals through electrical means, with readings taken manually.

Arrestors:

Equipped with three under-oil arresters featuring disconnectors rated at 18 kV, the 1500 kVA pad-mounted transformer safeguards against high transient overvoltage hazards during lightning strikes. These arresters also limit freewheeling time and amplitude.

Protection Fuses:

The 1500 kVA transformer incorporates three bay-o-net fuses and 6 ELSP fuses on the high-voltage side. In the event of a transformer circuit failure or abnormal current increase, these fuses can disconnect the current to protect the transformer from damage.

Temperature Rise:

The 1500 kVA pad-mounted transformer is engineered for a 65°C temperature rise in both the oil and winding. This feature facilitates effective heat dissipation, improves reliability, and extends the transformer's service life. With a 65°C temperature rise, the transformer can deliver a power rating of 1500 kVA (1.5 MVA).
