What is the industrial application of transformers?

The industry needs a large number of transformers because they mainly work with power supply and production lines. Transformers help regulates voltage levels and simplifies the use of low-voltage equipment. However, the industrial application of the transformer will change with the voltage fluctuation. Therefore, different industrial types will use transformers with different voltages and capacities.

Daelim manufactures various types of transformers, including pad-mounted transformers, pole-mounted transformers, power transformers, substation transformers, dry-type transformers, etc. Transformers are sold to many countries in North America and are used in many industries and fields, including construction, commerce, utilities, solar energy, wind energy, Bess, EV charging, etc. If you need anything, please feel free to contact me

Use of step-up transformeruse-of-transformers

The low-voltage power generated by the generator is sent to the power grid after being boosted by the transformer to reduce the loss of electric energy, which is called a step-up transformer. The working principle of the step-up transformer is that when AC current flows into the primary coil, the iron core will generate AC magnetic flux, and the secondary coil will induce voltage to generate a magnetic field. The direction of the input AC current changes constantly, generating a magnetic field that changes synchronously with the current, and forming a closed loop along the core of the transformer; Since the size and direction of the magnetic field are constantly changing, the current = voltage induced in the secondary coil is equal. Therefore, the more turns of the secondary coil, the higher the output voltage.

The step-up transformer is a kind of transformer, which has the function of voltage compensation and rise. It is also called the step-up compensator. The body is made of imported silicon steel sheets and high-quality oxygen-free copper wire, which has the advantages of small volume and good product quality performance. It is widely used in construction projects where the line is too long and the voltage can not meet the needs of the voltage used, as well as under voltage compensation for different occasions such as imported equipment matching and foreign different levels of voltage.

Use of step-down transformer

The step-down transformer reduces the voltage applied to the primary winding and provides the reduced voltage on the secondary side. However, the power and frequency remain unchanged during this process. Step-down transformers are widely used in electrical and electronic circuits. In the power supply system, a step-down transformer is used for the power distribution system. Step-down transformers are used in each power supply stage to reduce the voltage when necessary. In the field of electronic equipment, step-down transformers are used in various electronic equipment, and the operating voltage of the equipment is lower than the supplied voltage. Tools such as adapters for different electronic devices and low-voltage applications use this type of transformer.

Use of autotransformer

When primary and secondary isolation is not required, autotransformer is applied, which has the advantages of small volume, fewer consumables, and high efficiency. In the case of using an autotransformer, it is mainly to save a coil and reduce the cost. It also has the function of the ordinary transformer, that is, to increase or decrease the circuit voltage, isolate and reduce the impedance.

Single phase transformer usesuse-of-transformers

The single-phase transformer is simple in structure, small in volume, and low in loss, mainly due to small iron loss. It is suitable for application and promotion in low-voltage distribution networks with low load density. A single-phase transformer is a transformer whose primary winding and secondary winding are both single-phase windings. It is mainly used in residential power supply and distribution networks like small shopping malls.

Single-phase transformers can also be divided into single-phase pole-mounted transformers and three-phase pad-mounted transformers These two types of transformers have very similar applications and are both used in distribution networks. Daelim has rich experience in manufacturing single-phase pole-mounted transformers and single-phase pad-mounted transformers, and a large number of them are exported to the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, and other countries. If you need a single-phase transformer, please feel free to contact me!

Three phase transformer uses

The three-phase transformer is a combination of three single-phase transformers with the same capacity. It has three iron core columns, each of which is surrounded by two coils of the same phase, one is a high-voltage coil and the other is a low-voltage coil. Three-phase transformers have various classifications, including three-phase pad-mounted transformers, three-phase distribution transformers, three-phase dry-type transformers, etc. Three-phase transformers are widely used. A large number of three-phase transformers are used in renewable energy power generation fields such as solar energy, wind energy, and hydro energy. The three-phase pad-mounted transformer manufactured by Daelim is widely used in solar and wind energy projects. It has the advantages of short delivery cycles and high quality and is widely praised by customers.

Cause of transformer fire

  1. There is a large amount of insulating oil in the oil-immersed power transformer, as well as a certain amount of combustibles, such as cardboard, cotton yarn, cloth, wood, etc. these organic combustibles are easy to cause fire and explosion in case of high temperature, spark, and arc, thus leading to the risk of fire in the transformer.
  2. The internal coil insulation is damaged and a short circuit occurs due to poor manufacturing quality of the transformer, maintenance error, or long-term overload operation.
  3. Poor connection of the connector leads to excessive contact resistance and local high-temperature fire.
  4. The insulation of the iron core is damaged, the full current increases and the temperature rises, causing combustion of internal combustibles.
  5. In case of a short circuit or overload of electrical equipment, the transformer will overheat if the protection device of the transformer fails or the setting is improper.
  6. The oil quality of the transformer deteriorates, or the oil tank leaks oil or is short of oil, which affects the thermal cycle of the oil, reduces the heat dissipation capacity of the oil, and causes overheating and fire.
  7. When the transformer is struck by lightning, an arc or electric spark will be generated to ignite combustibles.
  8. If the animal is connected across the low-voltage bushing of the transformer, it will cause short-circuit fire.

Why did the transformer explode?

Transformers can be divided into oil-immersed transformers and dry-type transformers. For an oil-immersed transformer, in order to enhance insulation and improve cooling and heat dissipation conditions, the core and winding are completely immersed in the oil tank. Therefore, if the transformer suffers from serious overload, short circuit, insulation damage, and other faults, the mineral oil will be subjected to high temperature or arc action, and a large amount of gas will be generated, which will increase the pressure in the transformer, and finally lead to the structural damage of the transformer oil tank, that is, the explosion of the primary transformer. If the transformer explodes, it will cause serious casualties and economic losses.

How to analysis of gases and check oil level in transformer ?

The gas produced by transformer oil and fiber insulation in operation is mostly dissolved in the oil, but the rate of gas production is quite slow. When there is an initial fault inside the transformer or a new fault condition is formed, the gas production rate and gas production volume are very obvious. Therefore, a proper analysis of the gas produced by the transformer can detect the transformer fault.
