1. 500 kVA transformer should be checked and tested as follows before installation:

(1) According to the design and the instruction manual of the transformer, check whether the model and specifications of the transformer conform to the design requirements and whether the accessories are complete.

 

(2) Check whether the appearance of the transformer body and accessories is damaged and oil leakage, and whether the seal is in good condition. If the casing should not seep oil, the surface should be free of defects.

 

(3) Carry out the withstand voltage test on the transformer oil. After the power transformer is newly installed or overhauled, the insulation withstands voltage tests should be performed on the oil. Its standard is the new oil: the withstand voltage below 1.5kV is not less than 25kV; the withstand voltage of 20-25kV is not less than below 35kV. Oil in operation: The withstand voltage of 15kV and below is not less than 20kV; the withstand voltage of 20-25kV is not less than 30kV. In addition, the transformer oil should be tested for viscosity, freezing point, flash point, density, and acid medium.

 

(4) Measure the insulation resistance of the transformer. The insulation resistance value of the newly installed and overhauled transformer should be converted to the same temperature, and should not be lower than 70% of the manufacturer's test value.

2. Selection of installation location

1) The 500kva transformer should be considered to be installed close to the power center to minimize the power supply range.

3. Installation method

The installation methods of 500kva transformers include column type, ground type, floor type, etc.

4. Installation requirements for distribution transformers

Under normal circumstances, distribution transformers generally have two installation methods: one is the installation method on the column; the other is the installation method on the table. When using these two installation methods, the distance between the bottom of the transformer and the ground should not be less than 2.5m.

 

Floor installation should not be used unless it is temporarily used. If the floor installation method is adopted, the transformer should be placed on a firm platform with a height of not less than 0.3m (if the local maximum flood level is higher than 0.3m, it should be determined according to the maximum flood level). A solid barrier to prevent people and animals from entering should be set up around it. Walls or fences can be built. The height should not be less than 1.8m, and the distance from the outer contour of the transformer should not be less than 0.8m. Set up a barrier with a height of at least 1.8 meters, and leave the distribution point for the quarter-finals." If a fence is used, the gap between the two railings should not be less than 0.1m.

 

Pad-mounted transformers cover a smaller area than roof installations, have compact structures, and especially have higher safety performance, making them the first choice in economically developed areas.

When the transformer is placed in a special transformer room, the room should be well ventilated and dissipated. For the combustible oil-immersed transformer room, the fire resistance level should be Class I, and the distance between the four walls and the door and the outer contour of the transformer should not be Less than the 0.8m requirement.

 

5. Precautions for installation of distribution transformers
